I think cruiserweight is a bad choice. It's the most unglamorous division in boxing. That's why guys bail out of it.

Maybe it will help raise the profile of the division.

Some of the great heavyweights, such as Marciano and Dempsey, were cruiserweight size. It's the ideal fighting weight for many. People like Ibragimov and Chambers would be fighting at cruiserweight if it was more lucrative.

I just hope they get better commentators than Matthews and Charles.

They should of done HW, that division needs the most exposure.

The announcement should be soon, and the winner will get 750K. So hopefully they won't have to chase heavwyeight money. This will elevate the division and definitely should've chose this division over the heavyweights, Had The Contender gone with the heavyweights, it've been the shows las season because the lack of skill and action. There will be more KO's with these big guys then before and we should still see good action. Good choice, just think that BJ's career like Macca's had surpassed the need to fight 5 round fights in the Contender format.
