    Morales vs. Yodsanan 3K

Why would Erik Morales "unify" only 2 of the 3 major belts? Is he avoiding the "Thai Tyson"?

Yodsanan Nanthachai - "3K Battery", "Thai Tyson"
    WBA Superfeatherweight champion
    43W(35KO's)-2L-1D
    Notable wins:
    *Steve Forbes - UD
    *Ryuhei Sugita - TKO7
    *Lamont Pearson - KO9
    *Lakva Sim - UD12

    Erik Morales - "El Terrible"
    WBC & IBF Superfeatherweight champion
    47W(34KO's)-1L-0D
    Notable wins:
    *Carlos Hernandez - UD
    *Jesus Chavez - UD
    *Guty Espadas - KO3

Note that i didn't mention Morales' impressive wins at 122~126.

Yodsanan IMO is a worthy opponent for him, good technical skills, real KO power and a proud champion...another warrior from Asia.

I hope this match-up happens before Morales goes lightweight.

    Your thoughts.

I'm also praying that this fight would happen but Morales with Arum? Not a chance . . . Yodnasan is a very high risk and low reward fighter. While Morales would probably want to take a chance I don't think DIRTY Arum would allow it.

I'll throw all the money I have for Yodnasan if that fight happens.

I also want to see this fight but not before EM vs Pacman...

but if EM & PAC must fight one more opponent before they face each other I would love to see EM-3K Yodsanan and Pac-JMM II....

Why didn't you mention MAB, Paulie Ayala, or In-Jin Chi in his notable wins?

Good question. I'm trying to make a point. At 130, Morales IMO wasn't really that impressive compared when he was at 122~126. He can't put away defense-deficient Famoso whom he's been hitting at will and a one-armed Chavez whom he KD'd in the early rounds; the TKO on Espadas was impressive, yes, but you have to consider the fact that they both just went up in weight at 130. This leaves me to think that he hasn't really taken the power with him at this weight class, but that's debatable, of course. Yodsanan on the other hand, has been fighting at this weight class longer than EM. He KO'd Pearson with just one body shot, systematically dismantled the bigger Sugita with body punches, and although he wasn't able to KO Lakva Sim (the former WBA Lightweight champ) who was able to anyway not even Juan Diaz. If you have seen Juan Diaz-Lakva Sim which was a non-stop slugfest, then you can imagine the same scenario with 3K-Sim. Now, we are mentioning bigger & heavier boys here not the Ayalas, MABs or Chis. Size does matter. Steve Forbes was listed as 5'8 and 3K as 5'6, but during the fight underneath Corrales-Freitas, 3K was actually bigger than the Mongoose. I reckon 3K has a good chance of beating EM. He can box, counterpunch and if he can bring EM to brawl with him, even better.

BTW, 3K sought fights with Freitas, Barrios, The Galaxy Warrior and the Ghost as well. These fights never happened.

Yes, I remember that 3K fight but I only saw the end of it. EM did bring his power to 130 evidenced by his KDing Chavez two times in the second, the first two times of his career. Nobody else had KD'd Chavez, not even Mayweather who won a TKO against him when his corner tossed in the towel. Mayweather was making him look ****** and won every round, but never KD'd him.

I'd love to see more of 3K, especially if he's willing to fight the best (as I'm sure he is). EM is not afraid of anyone but he is looking for recognition and $$$, neither of which will come from fighting Battery. It's a sorry truth, but it's still the truth.

are Pac fans actually still crying about Arum? I mean they do know the Pac/Marquez rematch is happening in Febuary right...you know like Arum has been saying all along*rolleyes*

                as far as the fight

Its hard to say anyone is avoiding him when he has only fought outside of Thailand twice(once in Japan and once in the USA).

His two best wins are over Sim and Forbes and both of those guys are second rate. Sim vs Diaz wasn't a slugfest that was a one sided ass whoopin, Sim wasn't even competative in that fight. Steve Forbes is an alright fighter, but he is far from world class.

LaMont Pearson isn't a top ten guy at 130.

3-K still needs more exposure as of right now he has done nothing to earn a shot at Morales. You have to remember everyone at 126-135 wants a shot at Morales cause he's the big payday. Im sorry but a win over Steve Forbes aint saying much.

3K wants Morales. Freitas as well. As you just said, for recognition and $$$. Morales isn't afraid of anybody but is avoiding somebody. 3K might even follow him at lightweight. He can fight up to welter, but it won't be good for him. The thing is, he has ran out of quality opposition in Asia at 130...Randy Suico of the Phils. is good but there's no money & recognition in that fight.

If he can't have a fight with Morales, who do you think 3K can fight at 130 to get some attention in the US?

Pay attention.NO ONE is avoiding him. Hell he's only fought outside of Thailand twice.

Like I said as of right now he hasn't even done anything to earn a shot. As far as quality opponents go all the quality is fighting in the USA right now.

He should try fighting guys like Hernandez and Chavez to see how he stacks up. Maybe move up to 135 cause its likey Morales is heading to 135 also cause thats where the big fights are.
