Abraham vs. Miranda II: The Pre-Fight Report Card

By Cliff Rold - Two world-class warriors are going to hit and get hit.

    Hard.

That’s what happened the first time around. That’s the promise at hand this weekend as 28-year old German-based IBF Middleweight titlist Arthur Abraham (26-0, 21 KO) of Armenia makes his U.S. debut in a rematch with 27-year old power-punching Edison Miranda (30-2, 26 KO) of Colombia. For those who have had the chance to see the original either live or making its rounds on the Showtime family of networks this week, the rematch can’t get here soon enough.

For those who have still just read about the original, it should still be high on the list of must-see sporting events of the summer. Monday gave a chance to look back at that first fight in all it’s nasty glory: http://www.boxingscene.com/index.php?m=show&id=14478 Now it’s time to get ready for chapter two. It won’t be a title fight as the men will come in at a catchweight of 166 lbs., but it will most certainly be a Fight. [details]

I think it's going to be a war

I have to say i disagree with cliff on this one. Both can't be the same fighters they where that night because of that night and there fights since. Miranda took alot of shots that night and in fights since then and Abarham had his jaw rewired and was given more then he wanted by d level fighters like Ayala and Gevor. So as a result they will both be even more hitable then the first fight. Which wasn't a defensive gem by any means. End result fight of the year type war with Miranda getting the knockout win.

Top-level stuff as always, Cliff. I think you're entirely on target.

Miranda is not the same fighter from the first fight, he learned from that Pavlik ass beating. I gotta go with Miranda by TKO

Pantera will try to punish Abe with better boxing skills this time. No longer will be just try to outslug him.

How do we know what he is since Pavlik? he has fought no one of note.

I agree with Roldie, Miranda hasn't shown any improvement since his first fight with Ambraham (neither has Abraham really). So he knocked Banks out of the ring with a overhand right bomb. Abraham knows how to avoid that bomb. Abraham lands quick, stiff shots all night, tires Miranda down, frustrated him on the way to a UD.
