That thread on cowardice by Viva Mexico inspired me to make this thread. Based on his plain and basic common sense i have a question. If a boxer makes a "business" move is that a clean word for *****ing out or is it being smart and not worth getting into the ring vs a worthy opponent.
Is Business Move considered smart or cowardly?

I'm of the belief that if one is as good as says, more fights equals more money. There is no reason to not fight any contender whether they are high profile or not. Even if facing a bum, one could still make an easy payday. IMO, all of the high risk low reward ****, is just that, ****. I'm a fan of the sport, not the business. However, I do understand the business aspect, but thats not my problem.
Most great matchups do happen though.Comment

Fanatical fans of Cotto and margs fans will call floyd a coward, floyd fans won't. Any sane fan knows that floyd isn't a coward. Mostly everyone would probably favor floyd to beat either guy. They said floyd turned down 8 mil NOT to fight margs. That is not even close to the truth. That thread on cowardice by Viva Mexico inspired me to make this thread. I understand if your a champion who's mandatory is a guy like 29-10 or something but when they are projected to be the next big thing why wouldnt a fight like that make senseComment

Floyd neve refused to fight anyone. That is a conclusion people came up with. He said he would fight both. He said he would love to fight cotto, but dollars have to make sense. That is not a coward. Floyd and Arum were parting and Margs asks floyd why doesn't he want to fight him. Floyd says he respects margs and will fight him down the line. Right now I'm trying to do my own thing. Those fights never materialize...YET lol Floyd is not a coward.I'm of the belief that if one is as good as says, more fights equals more money. Who was talking about Floyd?
I was talking about boxing in general.Comment

In Floyd's case, his mindset was(from reading his words) that i fought those fights the fans wanted. The chico's, the hernadez's, the castillo's, the corley's. He got a taste of the decent to big money fights fighting gatti, baldy, judah, hatton and dlh. His critics say he wants easy fights. I say he wants big paydays and big fights. Nobody at welter has separated themselves or fought tough fights like he has his whole career. Margs is starting, williams also, and cotto imo is in his first test. It is like making 35,000 a year, and then going back to earning 18,000 in his mind.Comment

Actually, thats the way you see it. I seen it as a general boxing discussion with no names attached. There are other guys besides Mayweather who have used "business" as an excuse to not fight someone, so no, I didn't think it was about Mayweather.Comment
