So I read in an article that Donaire will only fight on the Cotto undercard if he gets a crack at Montiel. First off I love that Donaire is willing to take on a tough opponent and secondly I would love to see it more than Montiel v navarro/ donaire v scrub. So if this fight does happen July 26th who you guys taking? Cotto v Margo/Donaire v Montiel=great time in vegas!!

I love the idea of the winner fighting Mijares. Cristian has already been in a masterpeice beautiful fight, so he deserves the winner in a shot of the lower weights supremacy.Comment

I don't blame Donaire at all for wanting the big fight. While he should have cashed in with that excellent ko of Darchinyan, he got rewarded by being put on the shelf and largely inactive thanks to Shaw and team.
Then he had to fight a tough but past-prime Maldonado. It doesn't gain him much in the way of money so he has to make a move.
The fight with Montiel is an excellent idea and I hope it comes off.
If we're going to pay for a fight, it should be mandatory that there's two on paper good match ups to make up for the fact that one of them won't impress.
I remember when cards used to be loaded. Now it seems the exception rather than the rule.Comment
