Can you people Believe.......... (Klit Lewis)

Some people fail to realise that the cuts were facts. Even if he would have KO'd Lewis, would it have been worth it for permanent damage to the eyes? After every round went on, Vitali's face was getting more and more battered, and the cuts were getting more and more worse. Vitali couldn't see from that eye either.Comment

Hilarious, there was an episode where he pretends he can't read so he can take a load of time off work made me crease.

Popular or not, it's wrong. The cut on his brow was caused by a punch (doesn't matter whether the laces on the glove were involved or not...they were, but it doesn't matter), therefore when the fight was stopped because of the cut, it's a TKO win for Lewis. You can't go changing the rules of the sport just for ****s and grins, and even if that weren't the case, the win was fair and Lewis deserved it. Having said that, I think he would've lost a rematch, and I think he thought that too. Klitchko begged for a rematch for what...2 years? before Lewis announced his retirement, and I think that's because Lewis was waiting and thinking that Klitchko would get beaten by someone and he could get another payday against an easier opponent before he retired. Can't blame Lewis myself, hell, you couldn't melt me down and pour me on that big sonofabitch.
I'm a Klitchko fan myself, and I feel like Vitali would've worn Lewis down enough to take him out by maybe the 8th or 9th, but the loss is legitimate, period. The only really legitimate loss in his career, in fact, and Lewis deserved the win. He didn't intentionally foul to open the cut, but he did throw the punch. And to be perfectly frank, both fighters put on a helluva show and the loss, in my opinion, does nothing to hurt Vitali's standing in my eyes.Comment

People still talk about Ali/Foreman, and even Marciano/Walcott......what's the problem rehashing this fight? Hell, I kind of enjoy talking about it. It brings back the stunned disbelief I remember when I watched it live. Do you not enjoy talking about past fights? If that's the case, then why talk about any previous fights at all? You make no sense, my friend.Comment

Lewis would have probably KOD Klit. Vitali fans need to STFU its all good claiming Vitali was winning the fight and would have KOD Lewis but claiming that the cut was caused by cheating is ridiculous and in other threads where Vitali fans call Lewis a bum. Lewis is a definite top 10 HW of all time and IMO he is top 5 and Vitali is no where near that level....no where near Lewis' talent or legacy
Nobody with any brains is claiming the cut was caused by any foul, and against, nobody with any brains was calling Lewis a bum.
By the same token, what makes you think Lewis would've won by KO? He'd already caught Klitchko with some of the best punches he'd ever thrown, and didn't even put him on the canvas (something nobody else ever did either). Lewis was gassed, getting worse, and was probably headed for the canvas himself. Klitchko had already hurt him 2 or 3 times, and it would've been simply a matter of time before he caught Lewis again, something that's much easier to do with a gassed fighter.
As for talent....no, Vitali isn't near Lewis' level, but Lewis was never even a fraction as tough as Klitchko, and I think that evened the fight out quite nicely.Comment

Great fight. Klit was winning, but Lewis was right there and always finds a way to win. Who knows what would have happened. I didnt like the stoppage, but its hard to argue when Klit was so busted up (cut wise anyways.) I think it was a great fight for Klit and also that Lennox came in out of shape (expecting to fight someone else) and that all added to the drama.Comment
