Dawson-Diaconu Close, Johnson and Tarver on The Hunt

With Chad Dawson reportedly set to defend his WBC crown against Adrian Diaconu in the fall, two veteran light heavyweight fighters are now left to explore other options.
Former champions Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson, both considered to be potential opponents for Dawson, must now consider other bouts. [details]

At least Johnson gets to avenge one of his earlier losses to Branco. I'd much rather see Johnson-vs-Tarver 3

Last week, the WBC ordered the fight between Diaconu and Dawson to take place within 90 days - that means it must be scheduled for some time between now and early September.

Johnson-Tarver III with the winner fighting Dawson makes too much sense, thus, it won't happen.

I lost some respect for Dawson listenin to the **** he talked after he got his gift UD against Johnson. No matter who he has to go thru to get it, I want Glen to get his rematch wit Dawson and **** him up. In the meantime, Johnson-Tarver III is a decent fight.

            Yes please make Johnson-Tarver 3.

The first two fights were excellent. Especially the first!

I find it funny that the Romanians are acting like Diaconu is the bigger name, lol. Hardly anyone knows who Diaconu is. If GaryShaw wasn't such a cheap ass the fight would be in America. It doesn't matter though, money talks, Dawson is getting 60% of the share so it's pretty obvious who's the bigger name is. Oh and Dawson by KO or UD.

How is Johnson going to **** up Dawson when he gave it 110% and still couldn't get a convincing win? Dawson will only get better and beat him convincingly next time.

“It was such a grueling fight for Dawson that I fully expected him to turn down a rematch,” Foster said, adding that he was pleased when the WBC elevated Johnson from the number six contender to number one following the Dawson bout. “It’s no sour g****s (with Dawson). It is what it is. It hurts more as we get older because we have fewer and fewer opportunities. But we’ll get another bite at the apple.”
Foster is a dumb ass, he doesn't realize that Adrian Diaconu is the WBC interim champion and that Dawson had to face him immediately or lose his WBC belt. I'm pretty sure if Dawson could rematch Johnson again, without losing his belt, he would of done so. Therefore if their was a Dawson-Johnson II, it would be a non-title fight which would be pointless. Glen Johnson is going to fight Silvio Bronco for a title eliminator bout anyway. Once Dawson beats Diaconu and Johnson takes care of Bronco, then they will have their rematch.
