If you know the rules a boxer is considered down if you are hit and you use the ropes to keep you up or if you're going down and are holding on to the opponent. Cotto was clearly on his way down and tried a last second ditch to grab on to torres' waist! torres took cotto off him but it was very obvious and the ref knew that cott was going down and held on to the opponents waist therefore its an official and real knock down.
