This is a whole new ball game. The same could be said of Roy Jones when he fought Tarver the second time. Most thought Tarver had no chance of knocking Jones out in the rematch because if he couldn't do it the first time, it wasn't happening the second time.

What was different in the second fight than in the first? Jones wasn't as physically compromised from making weight and felt comfortable enough to take chances. Jones took one too many chances and got caught coming in.

It's hard to knock a guy out who is running the whole night. Abraham was doing everything he could to not get knocked out. The hardest thing to do is knock a guy out who has it in the front of his mind that anything can happen, just don't get knocked out.

Thats why you see so many durable journeymen, guys who are just trying to not get knocked out so they can still get paydays.

There are so many differences, first being weight. Both guys are going to hit harder at 166 than they did at 160.

Also, the ref in the rematch isn't going to *******ly hand out injury timeouts whenever he's in trouble. Also in America, the referee doesn't oblige you every time you petition him for borderline punches.

Good reply. In any case the likelihood of Miranda knocking out Abraham still has to be extremely small.

Abraham fights from a shell, is cautious by nature, and has an excellent chin. Miranda is powerful but much less so than advertised, and won't be putting together great combinations. If Miranda wins it'll be a decision based on activity.

It's not obvious in this fight who has better one-punch power. It's about even.

There's a reason Abraham is the betting favorite even in Florida.

Why did Miranda try to headbutt AA? Because he's a head case.

Still I give Miranda a 35-40% chance of winning a contested decision, and of course no better than 2% chance of winning by KO.
Are you nuts? I had Miranda winning 4 of the first 5 rounds. He won nearly all the rounds with the exception of maybe 3 at the most.

I thought Abraham won the first four all very cleanly (granted this was a longtime ago we were watching the dl). In any case he knew he didn't need to win any of the late rounds, so he hung on. You can take nothing from those rounds.

And in the controversy the lesson got lost: Miranda showed significant mental weaknesses. That should have been the talking point from that fight. He comes unraveled very easily.

Now consider it this way: would Miranda have headbutted if he hadn't lost all the rounds up to that point? The answer is in all probability 'no', but if the answer is 'yes', that's an even worse scenario for him.

Watch it again on a TV, I think you'll at least see what I mean. it was a very different fight IMO. I used to think Abraham won some of those early rounds too but when they show replys in slow mo and **** you can see that Abraham landed very little compared to the way it appeared watching in on the PC. And clearly he said he didn't want to fight even after the ref said it would be ruled a TKO win for Miranda until Wegner and Sauerland yelled up to the ring and Arthur kind of put his hands up and agreed to fight on somewhat reluctantly. either way the fight should have been stooped. He's lucky to still be fighting and I would bet Money Miranda rebreaks the repaired draw with an uppercut in this fight.

he looks to be in possibly the best shape of his career.

he looks in great great great shape.

abraham will have his hands full with miranda.
