Duran beat the life out of that kid. I've always felt bad for Davey Moore and that ref is a jackass.

he took a beating the whole fight.

don't know what the ref was waiting for...... for davey's head to explode before stopping the fight.

he didn't even stop the fight 'til the guys at ringside started yelling at him.

The towel should have come from the corner much sooner as well.

I can respect Enzo throwing in the towel when he did during the Pavlik/Lockett fight. Sometimes your guy just doesn't have a chance.

            corners are idiots sometimes.

sometimes you have to know when to tell your fighter it's over. refs are more scared to stop a fight early than for a fighter to get hurt.

most fighters don't want to give up. look at frazier he couldn't even see and when eddie futch stopped the thrilla in manila after round 14 i believe joe never forgave eddie for it and was mad at eddie.

don't like enzo but he did good that fight.

lockett was tough and tried but from the beginning you knew he was outgunned and outmatched.

no point getting him beat up. he could still have a career afterwards as a decent journeyman and make a living.

I thought that too until I watched ESPN Classic Ringside, according to them Frazier and Futch made up.

An example of corners not stopping the fight was Calzaghe-Lacy.

Anyways, I've never liked Duran. The whole "no mas" thing still just doesn't sit right with me. But, you can't deny his greatness.

                    they made up. that's good.

serves me right to base my opinion on bert sugar's comments.

lacy has ko power that's why. i guess his corner figured he could land one. joe just made him look silly.

                      i love duran.

the no mas thing i don't really hold against him too much. it's not like ray was beating him up and he pussied out. he just got frustrated with ray's antics.

from his explanation and i kinda believe him was that he didn't have that good a training camp and he figured since he won the first that ray would give him a rubber match.

still no excuse for giving up though......
