Marciano and Dempsey werent really that much smaller than Chagaev and Ibragimov. they weighed less, but they were in better shape.
If they would have beat Wladimir is a good question, which we could all debate about. but the rest of the champs today? Um, yes, both Dempsey and Marciano would both definately beat Sam Peter, Chagaev, and Ibragimov

Jack Johnson is another matter. I really wonder how he would do against real heavyweights instead of him fighting guys that weighed 170lbs.

      no contest

Dont forget Marciano was called the "Brockton Blockbuster" and Johnson was called "The Galveston Giant" They were powerful men....back then
They fought most of their fights at 185 or so and only got heavier when they got older, much older than fighters today Johnson fighting into his fifties.
Even if these guys lived in the modern era they would have almost no chance IMO however Evander and Toney and to a degree RJJ proved that it CAN be done.
Put them in a time machine and transport them to 2008?
Wouldnt make the top 20 in any division using 1920's skills and conditioning etc. anyone who things so is dillusional. Take any sport where you can quantitativly measure an athletes performance and that proves it.
Olympic 200 yrd gold medalist in 1932? wouldnt qualify for a college team today. Its true in every sport and boxing is no exception.

The only way to even think about it is "WHAT IF" Marciano was born in brooklyn in 1991! and raised in a house by Gus D'amato instead of Mike Tyson
THATS! something to ponder? or maybe Jack Johnson as Joe Fraizers kid instead of Marvis? LOL!

Dempsey and Marciano would own the cruiserweight division today. Fighting heavyweights they'd be undersized.

I think the size differential would be a bit too much for them.
