De La Hoya vs. Cotto, Hopkins vs. Pavlik is Discussed

Pavlik walking forward with jab straight combinations never ending, hopkins going backwards at all times momentarily throwing a couple of punches and holding, more holding, more holding. Eventually Pavlik puts him on a corner and brutally finishes off. Then after a few mins Hopkins gets up and bitches that he won the fight anyways. People criticize that Pavlik shouldn't have taken this fight and step up to fight younger names and Hopkins goes into permanent retirement claiming he was among the best ever(dirty fighters)...

for once i agree w/ arum. hopkins should retire, or at ;east try to get a rematch w/ callzaghe at all costs.

but this pavlik thing: have you ever seen hopkins in trouble of being koéd??? and brutally at that??? he may not be the same offensive fighter he was even a few years ago, but hopkins is still one of the cagiest, and most technically sound fighters today. pavlik will not hit him clean enough to "brutally" ko him. the fight will be close, and at this stage in hops career, he'd lose based on the "activity" of kelly pavlik. not because pavlik is this dominating force that will do to hops what no1 has EVER been able to do.

hopkins is too smart, he'll hold if he had to. but i question whether or not you have ever even seen a hopkins fight, based on that garbage you just posted. i agree pavlik wins, but by a brutal ko or tko???? wtf???

Why is Cotto going to move up in wght 2 fight a bum! Last I checked, Cotto was a champion and oscar is just a chump challenger with a good fanbase, no different from Check Hook Hatton. Thats the **** that pisses me off. You haven't won a meaningful fight in years but a current champion has 2 move up becuz your not good enuff 2 make it back 2 your natural weight! Cotto would get a ton of exposure, not to mention the biggest payday of his career by far.

I think Cotto beating Oscar not only is good for Cotto's career, but also great for the sport. Plus, maybe by then Mayweather could come out of retirement and fight Cotto, now that he would be a superstar.

Why should Hopkins retire? He got beat by a guy whos is P4P #2 and put in a decent performance. I think he could still beat most other guys at LHW.

If Hopkins didn't like losing to a "white boy" the first time, he really is going to hate it a second time. Especially since this "white boy" will likely knock him out and send him into permanent retirement.

Cotto vs ODLH I would love to see...Oscar should have to make 147 though and make it a world title fight...that would get **** stiring.
Im afraid as much as I like Oscar he would suffer a KO loss against Cotto.
As for hopkins he fights like a turtle with 40 inch forearms...hes a warrior dont get me wrong but its like watching ****en grass grow...RETIRE!!!!!!
