According to a recent report by MaxBoxing/BoxingScene.com's Steve Kim, Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, made contact with Todd duBoef, president of Top Rank, to discuss putting together a possible fight between Oscar De La Hoya and WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto for December 6 on HBO pay-per-view. Hopkins would make Pavlik look really bad, win or lose.

I'd love to see Hopkins v Pavlik. I have no real idea who would win though. If it was down at MW then I would probably favour Pavlik to do pretty much what Jermain Taylor did, win by default on the basis of more activity, but the higher the weight then the more I would favour Hopkins.

I doubt Hopkins wants to end his career getting beat back to back by two "whiteboys"

hopkins needs to stay retired... the only fights I want to see him in is if he rematches RJJ or fights James Toney at cruiserweight.

Now Surely the calzaghe haters must not praise a victory for Pavlik after everyone writes Joes victory off as beating an old, shot, inactive Former Great
