Edison Miranda: "The Arthur Abraham Fight is Personal"

By Ryan ******** - Controversy breeds rematches.

Five point deductions, one broken jaw, two lengthy reprieves and many low blows later, we're still trying to pick apart and analyze what happened nearly two years ago in Arthur Abraham's IBF middleweight title defense against Edison Miranda in Wetzler, Germany. [details]

miranda and john "the beast" mugabe has one in common: punching power. but their punching power faded when they faced a real champion, abraham for miranda and hagler for mugabe.

when mugabe lost to hagler, he never recovered his form. worst, loss came after a loss, and that was the unhappy ending of mugabe's short-lived fame.

when miranda lost to abraham, he bounced, winning his next assignment. but lost badly to kelly pavlik.

i hate to say that miranda's career is nearing its end, though i see it going that way. i hope he can get even with arthur.

          even if it's improbable.

I hate to get into this again since the fight is so close and predictions are no longer necessary, but I will note that there will be a lot of dissapointed AA haters on Saturday. Notice I say AA haters and not Miranda fans, because MOST of the people talking **** about AA are not Miranda Fans but European fighter haters who have rarely seen AA fight. Either way its a mouthwatering match and will give Cotto/Margarito a run for FOTY.

This fight is just too close to call for me. Both guys have a lot going for them, I just want to see how Abraham handles fighting in America.

Miranda has the home turf and weight advantage but Abraham is the better fighter IMO. It could go either way but based on skill alone I'd pick Abraham.
