Hatton and Williams hardly belong in the same sentence, Williams would simply get annihilated.

Hatton's far superior footwork and ring savvy would make Williams quit in his stool.

          Thoughts???
yeah because ricky already proved he can hang with welterweights its no question he would mop the floor with a guy that can easily make jr middleweight.

Im kind of surprised everyone is one-sidedly saying Williams would win.

Yes, Williams is a giant, but he has a long, very lean body which seems like it would be open to Hatton's body shots. Hatton has plenty of faults, but he can punch to the body pretty hard.
And the difference in reach is a lot, but Williams throughout his career has never really been someone who exclusively fights on the outside. hes been known to fall in and fight on the inside on multiple occasions. which is where Hatton is best.

I dont think Hatton would win nowadays...his punch resistance seems to be fading. yes, that can easily happen even if the guy is only 29ish, look at someone like Morales. and Hatton has always had leaky defence, so hes taken a bit too much punishment throughout his career.
but I think the Hatton that showed up against Tsyzu would have a pretty decent chance at beating Williams.

although Williams seems to be getting better, so maybe not...Ill wait and see if that Quintana win isnt just a one time kind of thing.

You're right, it's a physical mismatch. Hatton would have to be twice as skilled to even have a chance. And he isn't.

You think Hatton and his ****ty chin can take one hard bomb from Williams.

Hes too easy to get hir..Wiliams would kill him..

Remember the Collazo fight.....Ricky is no good aginst southpaws let alone 160 pound southpaws.

Hatton has no punching power??? perhaps someone should tell Castillo, Oliviera and Stewart, all guys Hatton destroyed, Castillo down 1st time in his career, Oliviera stopped 1st time in his career and with a perforated ear drum and Stewart stopped 1st time in career.

yes im a Hatton fan and yes i think he could win, i think he would have to KO Williams tho or get heavily outscored but i think Hattons hooks to the body would have Williams wilting by 6.

all those who blindly say Hatton has no chance are just showing their lack of knowledge of the sport they profess to love .... although i am a Hatton fan i am still completely objective and look at each fight on its merits.

Hatton vs Williams woudlnt be a good fight .

I am not a fan of Williams and feel he is being overglorified since the lucky KO in the quintana fight. However I dont see ricky going past 5 rounds with WIlliams.

I was surprised when Lazcano ( a guy who previously fought at 130-135) Buzzed Hatton and had him seriously hurt.

Williams by Knockout before the 5th. Hatton is just too small
