Criticizing a fighters punching technique(that just scored a first round KO) while praising a slapper like Joe sure is a sin.

The only reason williams punches look awkward on the inside is because he is so big fighting smaller guys, his jab isn't really a offensive weapon it's more to set up his left hook or to offset a fighter and bother them so they can't set up an offense but it's not a "sledgehammer" jab and isn't used to force a guy backward.

Williams is not difficult to figure out and once he runs into some real competition, his career will run short.
Considering he got beat first time out, I'd say he adapted pretty well. That was a K01 you saw, it doesn't get more impressive than that.

Paul Williams is a fighter with a ton of potential IMO. Look at how he boxed against Margarito, fast, moving, very impressive.

Then against Quintana first time we didn't see that at all and he seemed to be trying to walk him down, it didn't work out that time though. Then in the rematch the first thing I noticed was that he seemed to have more muscle on his arms, then he repeated the walking down exercise and blasted the guy out.

So Williams seems to me to have the power to be a puncher and also the speed and skill to be a boxer, just like another tall WW, Tommy Hearns did. Williams ain't no Hearns, thats for sure, he has his flaws and for sure his punching technique is poor, but with his mix of skills he is a fighter I think we should all keep an eye on. I hope he lives up to his potential.

Instantly takin out a guy who outboxed you over 12 is pretty impressive to me. He 1st stepped up in the Margarito fight when he took the role of the 1 guy who was gonna get off 100 shots a rd, then survived the 2nd half when Tony beat the **** out of him. Williams has done enough in those 2 big wins that he should get his props. His style is tough do deal with and I'd give him a shot against any of the guys at 147.

Even though the match wasn't that long Williams did adapt. He didn't walk quintana down before he hurt him. Williams used his jab to step up and actually kept a distance from Quintana this time. Paul was patience and used his physical means this time.

Unless he had found a weasel manager to guide him right just like Calzaghe did. Then he would make it to p4p status fighting bums and then fight an over the hill opponent or two and call it a career.
