I wanted one with a poll, so it would indicate clearly what most people think.

I don't think Floyd is a coward and I think it's an insult to call him a coward unless you are willing to face the same risks he has in his professional career moving up from junior lightweight to welter.

Of course I am disappointed at his choice of opponents at welterweight but I would never dream of calling him a coward and it shows a lack of respect for how hard boxing is.

I will call Floyd Mayweather a coward for his avoiding of fighters in 147, but as much as I dislike Mayweather, He wasn't a coward when he was in 130 when fighting undefeated Diego Corrales, also I don't think it's fair to say that Mayweather avoided De La Hoya because that is something that I know he didn't do, because the rematch in first place was pointless and is in my belief that he retired because De La Hoya tried to negotiate a loss for Mayweather so they could have De La Hoya - Mayweather III, but Mayweather loves his 0 so much he just wouldn't do it.

Even earlier in his career, he was avoiding prime, skillful fighters. He could have fought Mosley at 135, but he preferred to remain at 130 at that time, where he had a big reach advantage over his opponents such as Corrales.

When you go back and look at his earlier resume, most of his opponents like Hernandez were well past their best.

No, he doesn't want to fight any more because he doesn't have the heart for it. He's afraid of being hurt.

Now he's even peeing his pants with fear at the thought of facing past-prime De La Hoya again, so he's retired to avoid the September fight!

"Chicken" Floyd Mayweather will be remembered as one of the worst cowards in boxing history.
this man is the biggest coward and fraud in the history of boxing. ever since castillo beat him he has been afraid to fight the best because this man just cannot handle losing. not even a career high $8 million was enough for him to step in the ring with a man who could knock him out.

This man you speak of... does he happen to be from a town in Mexico called Tijuana and does he happen to be named Antonio Margarito? I am not sure Man is the appropriate word for Margarito. Feared may not be either, but he does do that to a lot of men.
