Tyson. Body attack, uppercuts, short arc hooks, ****in fast combos for a HW. Pretty elusive in close too.

If any SMW/MW went toe to toe with Hagler they'd get beat up, perhaps with the exception of Monzon/Marcel. To answer your question, Duran and Julio Cesar Chavez are the two greatest inside fighters ever.

i cant understand why people think Mike Tyson was great on the inside

he was good from mid range ,when he was inside he was content to hold and not punch inside

there are plenty of times where Tyson would just stand there and hold instead of working on the inside he even said himself he did not like fighting on the inside

Joe Frazier used to pull his arms away from clinches and try work away on the inside Mike Tyson never used to do that IMO he would wait for the referee to break them up so he could find his range

Well i can see that...I was thinking more on the line of how quick he was able to get inside and destroy someone. But fighting inside for a period longer than his bob n weave, get inside quick and throw punches.....then your right. If you could get past that then it was a clinch and the ref would break it up. Mike was in and out and didnt stay long inside.

So after rethinking...i would have to say henry armstrong. He had great head movement and would lean on you with his head and fire away an ungodly amount of combos and punches to the body and head. His work rate alone and ability to stay inside for a very long time and throw punches makes me give him the crown for best inside fighter.

go to the 1:30 mark and you'll see 30-45 secs of what im talking about. Greatest inside fighter ever.

also 4:15 vs 4:35 mark is more action of his inside fighting style
