Nate Campbell, Frank Warren Discuss Amir Khan Bout

During the recent Boxing Hall of Fame weekend in New York, promoter Frank Warren spoke with WBO/WBA/IBF lightweight champion Nate Campbell about a possible fight with unbeaten UK sensation Amir Khan. Khan must first win his upcoming bout with veteran Michael Gomez, and Campbell is heading in the direction of a tough defense in August against Joan Guzman. [details]

I hope Campbell blows him away, give Khan a reality check...

Its not that i dont wanna see another British boxer succeed its just Khan thinks hes much much better than he actually is and i think Campbell should put him in his place.

Once Khan has that first loss on his record to a world class fighter then hopefully he ll shut his mouth a little and get into the gym working as hard as ever on the weaker points of his game

Campbell by a vicious KO due to Amir Khan hiring Buddy "The Jinx" McGirt.

I'm quite surprised, that is I'm surprised if this isn't a smokescreen and Warren is genuinely interested in matching Khan with Nate. Campbell is the best lightweight in the world right now, he's bubbling over with confidence and he is rough and ready, with the style to give Amir a lot of problems. Khan has improved in the past 9 months, year, but he's still not the total package, he lacks power, and though he is very speedy and throws bundles of punches without that power fighting a guy like Nate Campbell is going to be very difficult. He comes to fight and likes putting you in the pressure cooker. This is a big step up in class from fighting the Gary St. Clairs of the world, Khans chin is a little shaky, and I'd say he needs at least four or five good wins, stepping stones, before even thinking about challenging a legitimate, top fighter. As for Campbell-Guzman that has the hallmarks of a brilliant fight, I think Campbell will be too strong for him, Guzman really has climbed the weights quickly, he should be fighting at 126 or 130
