Well, yeah, it kinda does matter. First, I think Joe would beat Roy pretty easily in a rather boring fight.

Second, I think he only has about a 55-45 shot vs. Kelly at best in what would be an exciting, close fight, and that coupled with the fact that Kelly is a P4P fighter in his prime who applies more pressure than most in the game scares Joe alot more than a shot, slower, former P4P great of 5 years ago who has looked lackluster in the last few years scares him.

So yeah, it does matter

Go to about 7:40, 7:45 of this video and listen for about a minute. Taken from a Press Conference discussing Joe's fight with Hopkins. Watch as Calzaghe in plain King's english says he'd rather fight Pavlik than Jones. And we all know what happened when the time came to make good on that statement... I'd love to hear what the Brit's have to say about this, you can't really tell me he wanted Jones all along now, can you .

If I can't beat a 43 year old man convincingly, I'm sure as hell not going to fight a 26 year old, P4P KO artist like Pavlik.
