In his early career, they were not around for him to fight, and then he went and lost to Douglas. Had he won Holyfield would have been next and maybe followed by the others.
Tyson though even at his very best still would have struggled with Holyfield,Bowe,Lewis and Mercer. Not saying he would have definately lost, but they were all capable of beating him in his prime, but the possibility existed for him to have beaten them.
I think maybe after the Douglas defeat, everyone knew Tyson wasn't the same and maybe there was some careful matchmaking. All credit to Tyson though for facing Ruddock who was the most dangerous opponent at the time.
The one and only time Tyson managed to dig farely deep in his career and fight back when someone posed him plenty of problems.
Dude the guys you mentioned werent around for Tyson to fight.Comment

If you claim to be the best, then you have to prove it against the best opposition. I am not critizing him on not fighting ALL of them, but he could have beaten one elite fighter that was in their prime. The best fighter that he fought who was in their prime was Bruno, and that speaks for itself considering Bruno was was never elite and has been stopped previously. While Ruddock, Biggs, Frazier, and Golota were once good fighters, they were never champions and not in the higher echlon.
Also, Evander and Lewis both wanted to fight Tyson. Funny how they did their part in the deals and he never did his.Last edited by slicksouthpaw16; 06-16-2008, 01:38 AM.Comment

Carlos De Leon is in the hall of fame and also in the top 10 greatest cruiserweights of all time list. Dwight Qawi is also in that list and definitely in the hall of fame. Evander beat him twice and had only 11 fights when he beat him the first time. Foreman later defeated Michael Moorer so that definitely counts. Many observers believes that the Foreman of the 90s is better than the young reckless Foreman becuase he threw straighter shots and was more patient. He was also a better boxer.

Foreman of the 90`s also had lightining fast hands
