    Joey Maxim on ESPNClassic now!

Damn this guy has a beast of a jab. No wonder his name comes from it.

I am interested in seeing his fight with Robinson now.

Robinson was winning their fight before succumbing to heat exhaustion.

      Lol, I know that.

      I think everyone knows that.

I would just like to see how Robinson was able to neutralize that jab.

Because, either this guy he is fighting right now is a bum, or his jab really is that good.

He was using his superior speed, he was sticking and moving, using his own jab and getting off first. Maxim couldn't catch him.

          Was it close at all?

Or was it a Calzaghe-Kessler like domination?

          Or even worse, Calzaghe-Lacy?

It wasn't domination but Robinson was clearly ahead.

Maxim was clinching and holding when they got close to keep Robinson still, that's why Robinson got so tired, Maxim weighed about 15 pounds more than Robinson.

But when they got separated from the clinches, Robinson was doing some real good work, getting off first, using his jab and footwork, setting most things up behind the jab, he threw occasional lead left hooks. Maxim didn't really land too many clean punches on him.

              Thanks Silencers!

By the way, this is the way a slickster should operate.

Damn, no one would give negative connotation to the word slickster if the fought like Maxim.

He is keeping Murphy at range with the jab, but he really isn't backing up too much, and is doing some damn good work on the inside when Murphy comes in.

I wish this guy were fighting today, I'm pretty sure he would be my favorite fighter, far and away.

He was a good fighter. No problem.
