David Lopez Outlasts Michael Walker, Snatches Another “0”

Michael Walker danced as hard as he could, but in the end was unable to impress the judges as Lopez took a unanimous decision in their ten round middleweight bout, which aired live on Telefutura from the Sundance Square in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Action didn’t pick up until round two, with Lopez’ long right jab from the southpaw stance controlling the tempo in the opening frame. Walker survived the dilemma of getting past Lopez’ jab, working his way inside and then clinching after getting in his work. [details]

They had him at 9, but this win should propel him even higher IMO. Joval is 8, so maybe they will switch spots. That would make sense. I know Castillejo is coming off a big KO defeat, but Lopez shouldn't be higher than Javier.

Lopez is proof that you can't always judge talent by the won/loss totals. Maybe that will get through to some of the dopey Margarito bashers.
