I personally think De La Hoya-Cotto would be better. It would still draw huge numbers, but the fight would promise to be exciting which is very important. That was the one thing against De La Hoya-Mayweather, the lack of excitement. Both fights would be huge, but I just think that when millions of viewers tune into a massive event like that and see an exciting fight, then that would be huge for boxing.

That's my opinion though. I may get bashed for it, but oh well.

    Its hard to say.

I think if the rematch (which it doesnt appear will happen between floyd/oscar) happens the status of each fighter can play a huge role.

I dont think it needs to be action packed (despite popular belief) i think what would please those casual fans is for their fighter (oscar is BY FAR the bigger fan favorite among casual fans) to win the rematch.

the fight (in terms of action) could be IDENTICAL to the first fight but so long as oscar's hand gets raised and earns the "W" the fans will be happy and say it was great.

Many will probably argue this but i believe its true...casual fans get discouraged when their fighter doesnt win...even in a "boring" fight...Look at oscar v. forbes (the tune-up fight)...it was far from what many consider "exciting"; it lacked knockdowns or toe to toe battling...but oscar won the fight and the fans went home happy.

If oscar had lost that fight the casual fans would be in an uproar and complain it was a waste of time to watch.

Its not the be all end all solution but it does make a difference...

Cotto v. de la hoya is a big fight...i think it would have been an even BIGGER fight had mayweather lost to one of them RIGHT BEFORE this fight was made. it would add to the sales and interest in a major way because in the mind of the casual fan whoever (be it cotto or oscar) would have beat the p4p best so they would believe that either cotto or oscar is the NEW p4p best (even though we hardcore fans know that beating the p4p best doesnt automatically MAKE YOU the p4p best).

it would definately boost sales and interest across the board.

    Each fight would be important.

As of right now though i have to say oscar v. cotto is NOT more important than mayweather v. oscar because mayweather v. oscar would SET UP the winner to face cotto and boost the sales among casual fans...

to us hardcore fans de la hoya v. cotto is more important.

so i didnt vote in the poll because you have to consider for both sides of the sport (both types of fans).
