I'm not personally interested in whether a fighter is undefeated, just so long as he doesn't have a string of losses against clearly junk opponents, but realistically this is better for Pavlik. He can't beat Calzaghe right now, and it would be an utter waste of his time at this point in his career (except for the paycheck, of course) to take on someone for whom he has no answers. I said it before, and I'm saying it again, now......Kessler is the right match for Pavlik at this point. It's a pick-em match, and whoever loses won't be hurt by the loss at all....unless of course he's totally dominated, which just isn't going to happen with either of these guys. The only alternative for Pavlik would be to stay in middleweight for a couple more fights and pound on a couple more nobodies. I can't think of any MW's right now that I'd even want to see him fight. Taylor would get KO'd, Wright would lose a decision, Abraham is scheduled in June for a fight with Miranda and won't be ready for another for awhile...about the only one I think I'd actually like to watch would be a Pavlik/Duddy fight, and that's only for sheer entertainment purposes. Pavlik would win, at least in my opinion, probably by 8th round TKO, but it would be a frigging war with both guys hitting the canvas multiple times causing lots of excitement.
