If Calzaghe Fights RJJ, Is It Another Handpicked Opponent?

Calzaghe wouldn't dare fight RJJ in his prime, but now he wants to fight him as Jones approaches 40-years-old and is clearly not the same fighter. On top of age, I don't think he ever recovered from dropping all that weight after his fight at HW. Calzaghe's strategy is clearly to fight names who would have beaten him in their prime, but that he can now beat when they are washed up. If Calzaghe fights RJJ, does this mean Calzaghe is handpicking yet another opponent?

I don't see how you can say that when Pavlik has only 1 MIDDLEWEIGHT title defence.

Pavlik is a no-hoper against Joe.

Roy and Joe are what, one year apart in age?

Calzaghe is 36 while Roy Jones is 39.

But you, my friend, fail to realize that Pavlik has already faced better opposition this early in his career than Joey has for 10+ years. Put it this way.....

Would you rather **** a different ugly ***** every day of the week?

Or ONE fine ass girl every weekend?

            It's about quality not quantity.

He's doing it for the money, he can get more of the RJJ fight than a Pavlik fight. It's all about securing his finances now he wants to retire with some money.

Cal did want to fight jones in his prime. I thought roy would've whooped his ass, but that is besides the point now. It is a money fight, and Cal is entitled to one imo. Pav in the mean time can unify 160 or do the next best thing. Ko kessler or a top 168 lb fighter.

Exactly, and he just wants Pav to prove himself while he fights jones. If Pav were to beat Cal, fans here would talk that "Americans are greater than the brits frankenturtlebulldunky crap" rather than recognize how great Cal actually was.

I guess so... But it's still sad a boxing would be legend like Roy as to be a stepping stone.
