Actually, Jones got up against Tarver and couldn't get up against Johnson because of a little thing called.. the canvas. He hit his head hard on the canvas and couldn't get up. The punch wasn't what hit him like that.

Seriously, there's nothing to defend about this fight. It's a money fight, I'm not terribly interested in it. Jones did not get it for beating Trinidad, he got it for showing he is still marketable with the PPV numbers he did for that fight.

Hopefully Pavlik will keep on beating his opponents in impressive fashion while Calzaghe outworks Jones, then the fight could happen in 2009.

Joe is getting up there in age and might show signs of slipping in the near future, in that case the Pavlik fight could turn out to be very close and entertaining, with Pavlik possibly winning. I don't see Calzaghe losing to Pavlik if he is at his best.

Ray Austin was a MANDATORY.....Brewster was 100%, he even said he was 100% for the rematch BEFORE and AFTER the fight.

It would still be a good win for Calzaghe, but not quite the victory Pavlik would be. Some of you are underrating Roy, who can still bring considerable skills to the table.

Ideally I'd rather see Calzaghe beat Pavlik first and then finish with Roy, preferably with Roy fighting a credible opponent, winning in the meantime.

Roy first and then Pavlik still works for me though. I just want Calzaghe vs Pavlik.
