I think the only Martial arts that are useful in a fight are Boxing (it's classed as a martial art LOL), Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Handspeed of that nature is just not effective because you could proberbly walk straight through something of that nature.
Is hand speed of this nature useless in a fight?

it's not on the same level as muay thai or brazilian jiu-jitsu as far as fighting mma but it's very good for self defense. You like Krav Maga? If they had a school in NJ I would be on it like white on rice. That's the most destructive fighting style I've seen outside of all the **** that entails a gun. No wasted moves. Just raw ass whipping. Was Jason Bourne supposed to be using Krav Maga in those Bourne movies?
remember it was developed for the israeli army. the majority of the idf are reservist and part time soldiers so it teaches good , basic , easy to learn techniques and they have some weapons training in case you are confronted with someone with a bat or knife or bottle. i don't know how expensive it is though.
if it's expensive you're better off just staying in shape and boxing backyard with your friends to keep your skills sharp. yeah you aint gonna win golden gloves but the guys you throw gloves with probably throw it better than joe blow off the street.
and join a wrestling club , which is usually available at most colleges without a wrestling program. a lot of guys who wrestled in high school go to a college or jc that has no wrestling program so they start a club at the school for recreation. that's where i learned the basics of grappling when my friend who was all-city high school went to cs fullerton and him and his buddies had a wrestling club. i bought some bjj books and videos and practiced the chokes and locks on them. put it this way if you can choke or armbar a highschool wrestler you can probably do it on 99% of the guys on the street. you don't need to learn the more complicated stuff in judo and bjj anyway. a simple choke or armbar will suffice in a fight the majority of the time.Comment

I don't know what the hell he's doing, honestly. Handspeed is great in a fight, but what's the bull**** he's going on about the other fellow's neck? It takes a single blow to the throat packing only 8 to 10 pounds of force to completely disable a guy. Hit him with 30 pounds of force and you crush his trachea and kill him. What the **** is all the extra bull**** he's doing? It looks ridiculous and would get some ****head killed in reality, if he tried that ****** **** in a fight for his life.Comment

Because boxers are far more defensive than an idiot coming at you like the one in that animation. The guy is wide open, trying to stab downward with a knife, and waving his left hand in the air like a flag. The people doing that animation haven't a farking clue about close combat.Comment
