ARUMS SPEAKS ON PAVLIK VS CALZAGHE: LIKE FOR OCTOBER 18th?

At the post-fight Pavlik-Lockett press conference, Bob Arum had this to say about possiblity making the Fight of the Year:

“If we’re successful in making Pavlik-Calzaghe, it’s gonna be a monster. I’m talking with Frank Warren, he’s being inducted into the Hall of Fame tomorrow. We’ve been talking for the last few days. I have to say the talks so far have been very productive. We’ll see. He has to consult his fighter. Joe Calzaghe has never ducked anybody and we have to see if we can put it together. Let’s first get everything settled. I don’t think the weight issue is going to be an issue.”

“Heavyweight,” Kelly Pavlik said.

Arum continued, “But I am very, very optimistic that this fight can happen on October 18th!”

Pavlik immediately responded, “Sweet.”

Look I like both fighters and respect their abilities but I'm not so sure Pavlik is a shoe in against Calzaghe. After I watched Calzaghe destroy the so called unstoppable Jeff Lacy I won't ever doubt his abilitiy. Calzaghe's age is more of a concern for me against Pavlik, he'll be another year older when and if they meet and if anyone beats Calzaghe it will be father time. While he still looks good I believe his better days may be behind him but we'll see. Win or lose both have proven to be the real deal.

So called unstoppable Jeff Lacy lol , do you believe hype or your eyes , go and look at Sheika vs Lacy and tell me he is unstoppable ,, Pavlik is a lot more than Lacy and would KO Lacy as he is there to be hit and nobody is taking Kellys punches square on ,, this is a very dangerous fight for Joe Im suprissed he took it , well actually he hasnt said a word himself its all been Arum .
