One of Boxings biggest is not replacing the Superstars...

Not replacing the Superstars that left or that are about to leave the sport. Here is some of the ones that will be leaving us shortly. Mayweather,De La Hoya,Mosley,Jones Jr,Trinidad,,Hopkins,Joe Cal,and others that i probably missed.

Who is Boxing replacing these guys with? Where is all the Superstar talent? Boxing is a great sport but Superstars are what make it great. We we need to replace these guys.
Have young kids just lost interest in Boxing? Is this new culture preventing kids from taking up boxing?

I'm not sure what the problem is but Boxing needs to figure it out somehow.

Gamboa could be great. The problem is these prospects keep fighting cans until they are almost 30. In the meanwhile Old fighters stick around (Forrest, Hopkins, Tarver, Mosley) because they are too being fed to some of these prospects. Older fighters sell as if they are still good but they aren't. Good fighters fighting good fighters both under 30 years of age has become a rare sighting in boxing and superstars fighting superstars, both still under 30? There isn't any, for the reason explained above. See the full cycle?

It's a sad situation and it needs to be solved for the sake of the sport.

They are the biggest names because they've been around a long time and accomplished a lot in the sport. Younger guys will eventially get there. Cotto, Margarito, Gamboa, Khan, Dawson, etc. etc. etc.

Mayweather - has only been a superstar for a few years, Nobody cared about him until he fought Gatti.

Delahoya - Yes he has been the biggest superstar in Boxing since Tyson, but since he is a promoter he will still be around to promote Boxing.

Trinidad - He has only fought 3 times in the past 6 years, don't see how Felix retiring will affect the current state of boxing.

Joe Cal - How long has he been a superstar?? Maybe in Wales but here in the US most people didn't know or care about him till he fought Lacy.

Hopkins - Bernard has never been a big ticket seller, I don't see his retirement affecting much.

Mosley - Are you serious? If anything I would have put Vargas on that list over Mosley.

Jones Jr - After getting Ko'd by Tarver and Johnson I would say it took most his luster, he is actually now in a position to be in a mega fight.

            ------------------------------------------------------------------------

            Potential Superstars/Superstars

WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO - He is the current Heavyweight champ, he has a huge following in Europe. Potential fights against Povetkin and Haye would be huge blockbusters across the pond.

David Haye - The most exciting and promising Cruiserweight moving up to Heavyweight since Holyfield, has a very exciting style and just signed a new deal with Golden Boy. He has the look and potential to become a mega star.

LUCIAN BUTE - Undefeated Romanian fighting out of Canada, he has a huge following in Canada. He might be fighting Librado Andrade soon on HBO, if he defeats Andrade and continues to remain Undefeated. He has the potential to become a star.

            KELLY PAVLIK
            - Barely a year ago he burst into the scene with his destruction of Zertuche/Miranda he is already headlining big fights and is starting to get a very big following. Potential fights against Trinidad and Calzaghe might catapult him into super stardom.

            MIGUEL COTTO
            - Has a huge fight coming up against Margarito, a win there can bring future big fights against Delahoya or Paul Williams to clear up the Welterweight division.

Ricky Hatton - Ricky is a superstar, his fans are the best fans in probably all sports. Potential fights against MANNY PACQUIAO or even a year down the road against Amir Khan would be blockbusters.

AMIR KHAN - Olympic silver medalist Khan has been advancing steadily, he is a big star in the UK and once he becomes champion has the potential to be the next Mayweather/Delahoya.

MANNY PACQUIAO - He is a god in the Philippines, his last fight was the biggest selling PPV for fighters under welterweight. Potential mega fights against Hatton or a 3rd Marquez fights loom.

JUAN MANUEL MARQUEZ - Has just recently been getting the big fights, the best fighter out of Mexico right now. Has some big fights comming up against Casamayor/Cambell/Pacquiao.
