In his style, which I thought was only a lack of creativity. Against Lockett, he showed some damn good hooks and uppercuts that were thrown with enough frequency that you can't just look out for the 1-2.

I am now SUPER excited about Calzaghe-Pavlik. Calzaghe is bigger, but not overly powerful, so he isn't going to be able to just impose himself on Pavlik. Pavlik is going to have a good workrate, mixed with great technique and a huge heart that won't allow him to shut down like Kessler did in the late rounds.

Calzaghe is going to have a great workrate as well, mixed with insane natural ability to throw effectively from all angles, and the gift of perfect adaptability.

I originally thought that Calzaghe would beat Pavlik pretty handily, but I am actually quite a bit more split on it now.

Most importantly though, I'm as excited for this fight as I am for Cotto-Margarito!

ive never really though kelly has that much flaws to be honest....in afct teh people who say stuff about him only throwing 1-2's and crappy defense probably had only seen him vs Miranda and Taylor.......

but he's not great at anything IMO....and is too slow-inexperienced and not special enpugh to beat calzaghe...

I only said crappy defense after Miranda, when I didn't know **** about the sport.

I only said 1-2's after the Taylor fights.

And yes, those are the only fights of his that I have seen, other than Lockett.

Calzaghe had some rough moments against Kessler. Perhaps Pavlik can do a little better and throw Joe off. If that happens, then a decision win might be in his future.

I don't think Pavlik has a chance of knocking Calzaghe out though.

Thats the difference BTW Good and Great...a great one is very good at it all...and even GREAT in some things...

The only way Pavlik wins is he lands something that effeectively takes out Calzaghe(be it a one punch KO or punch that affects Calzaghe so much that he can never recover).........i have no doubt who is better, though...

Kelly ALWAYS showed a good variety of punches.
People who said he was a 1-2 fighter only saw him once or twice.
