i don't know...the guy hasn't fought at 168 before. I don't know if his stamina will become a factor to being champion again.

How the hell can you become another Lacy when you've proven yourself against world class competition time and time again.

            wth...another lacy??

lacy didnt prove **** before calzaghe

taylor has already beaten b-hop twice, drawed winky, beat joppy, ouma, and spinks

he also came close to stopping pavlik in round 2 in their first fight and fought a close decision the second fight

Taylor has made good showings against three of the biggest names in the sport right now.

He fought Hopkins twice, and did enough in both to get two decisions... something Calzaghe has only done once, and it is being used as the primary justification for making Joe a top 3 p4p fighter.

He fought Winky to a draw... a fight Winky probably could have won had he put his heart into it, but he got ****y and quit at the end when Taylor didn't. JT offered a rematch and Winky wouldn't go near it.

And yeah, he got knocked on his ass by Pavlik, but so have a lot of other guys. But how many have gone an impressive 19 rounds with the Ghost, or put him on all fours in the 2nd round of a fight?

Taylor shows up to every fight, and doesn't duck anyone. There is a worthy opponent or two at SMW, but none have shown the same heart or class as Taylor. Is he beatable? Sure, we saw that against Pavlik. But it will take another great boxer to do it again.

It's amazing what a bad rap the guy gets for accomplishing more than some of the more popular fighters today.

              I can't wait to see a Taylor/Kessler matchup, hopefully in 2009...

I believe he will, he'll basically be the most skilled guy at 168. Never thought Taylor was overrated, he never takes an easy fight & after a fight with Pavlik, he should do well for himself.

Taylor wasn't ruined by Pavlik. He can come back and win a belt or 2 at 168. I don't think he'll ever be the juggernaut he was supposed to be tho.

I'm not sure if Taylor will ever win a belt again, but I'll be rooting for him, he's one of the decent guys in the game.

the guy became hungry after his first loss to the ghost. he worked hard and was the first guy to push kelly past 8 rounds. he looked good at 166. guy has skill and heart ; of course he becomes champion again and i wouldnt be surprised if him and kelly battle to unify at 168 one day.
