Alexander Povetkin’s next opponent has been named during a presser, which ended moments ago at Olympiyskiy Sports Palace in Chekhov, Moscow region. Athens 2004 super heavyweight gold medalist Povetkin (15-0, 11 KOs) will face American Taurus ‘The Bull’ Sykes (25-4-1, 7 KOs) on July 19 at the very same venue in a ten-round special attraction. The 28-year-old Povetkin (IBF #1 and WBO #4), the IBF mandatory challenger, is scheduled to fight IBF/WBO/IBO unified champion Wladimir Klitschko later this Fall and has no option to be defeated by 33-year-old Sykes.
