Nearly everyone said Pavlik, and I don't mean to poop the party, but if he is absolutely the best boxer that "The Mecca of Boxing" is currently capable of producing, then you all are in trouble.

Kelly is very good at what he does, but I'm telling you, he is going to get beat the first time he faces a guy that take a punch and is either a fast, slick attacking boxer or is an elusive counterpuncher. I guarantee it. Even just a guy who does what he does a bit better would do it.

P4P Chad Dawson would beat him, and around his weight class, well jeez...I can't think who else!

      oh and, Pavlik
Well, neither Wright nor Hopkins have a world title, while everyone on the list has. And neither Wright nor Hopkins won their last fight.

In fact, if he's still considered active I'm actually pretty sure it would be B-Hop.

C'mon now abadger - Hopkins just threw one punch then held in his last two fights. He was tired by the ninth round.

Kelly Pavlik's destruction of Miranda, Taylor (in the first fight), and Lockett was nothing short of magnificant. And his stamina held up very well in Taylor II, while Jermain faded in the last two rounds.

Let's not forget: Kelly has TWO WINS over a fighter that Hopkins has TWO LOSSES against, namely Jermain Taylor.

                Kelly Pavlik--

His record is impressive. His method of victory is impressive. He comes from a blue collar American town struggling to keep up with the faceless hand of globalism overshadowing it. He represents everything great about the sport and original to its American heritage.

Hmm. I dunno. I just honestly don't rate Pavlik as highly as everyone else seems too. To me he just seems so one dimensional that I can't for the life of me work out how he could beat anyone who showed a bit of movement and and exposed his forward only style for what it was, but I've been wrong before.

I do think though that Hopkins would still beat anyone else in his weightclass bar Joe, and LHW is stronger than MW for sure. I can see why my opinion seems anathema since everyone loves Kelly now, but I can't agree that Kelly looked MAGNIFICENT in his recent fights. If you're bigger and stronger than your opponent and for whatever reason he decides to stand in front of you and let you hit him, then chances are you'll win.

Like I say, I think P4P that Chad Dawson would beat him, but I can't see anything that Dawson has done that could justify me saying he was the best.

On results, I might say that Kelly is the best right now, but on a P4P type basis I just can't rate someone like Pavlik as the best fighter in the USA.
