Why is Mike Tyson disrespected so bad by boxing fans and critics alike?

why is it everytime the name tyson is mentioned it's always these crybabies that say 'oh he ****d that woman', 'he bit holyfield's ear off', 'he's a disgrace, he lost to lewis and holyfield (when he wasnt even in his prime) he's this he's that.....

**** im sick of this, every fighter is at fault with something, maybe mike overdid with some of his problems and made more headlines, but it doesnt change the fact that he was a great fighter

why dont people say he made history becoming the youngest heavyweight champion (recognition which isnt even mentioned anymore)

how he became the unified and undisputed champion, and destroyed some very good fighters.

put the personal bull**** aside, and mike is a great fighter

    Dont ever forget this!

Joe Louis, Joe Frazier, Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano, all would have folded like armani suits under tyson's skill and power

he was a great fighter in his prime, and a lot of pricks posing as boxing fans wont give him any credit

A lot of these haters weren't even around back then to witness what is was like. If an undefeated 19 year old Tyson with 16 wins and 16 ko's (with about 12 in the first round) came around now, he'd be the biggest thing in boxing right now. Wlad fans would be ****ting their pants, guaranteed.

I give him respect, but i think he is partly to blame for the disprespect with some of the things he did.

As i said, i still like him. If he was around today he would be reknowned as a god

what's more amazing is that the people who were around to witness him in his hey day were saying that he would surpass every great heavyweight and retire undefeated.

truth is mike ****ed up, but he was one the greatest fighters ever to step into the ring, nothing would change that. all that bull**** overshawdows his accomplishments and people just dont get what a big deal he was in the 80s. he was a phenom

guys like wlad would have no chance against him, im quite certain of it

yes he's responsible for most of the backlash he suffers today but it's good to see a fan who doesnt look past mike's greatness

i got no beef with someone who doesnt like mike as a person, but why do they have to mix it in with what he did in the ring

like Roberto Duran once said "Mike was never ****** in the ring" i agree with that 100%
