It really does not make sence for him to retire pre ODLH 2 that leads me to believe he is done(for a while anyways). If he is retired for good, then good for him it is his life and he have done a lot in the ring as is he has been a champ since 1998 really in boxing that is a long ass time.

I do think he is trying to get out right now he may not be able to stay away though he might get bored, may want the spot light, may need money or whatever other reason. I do think he is sincere in this retirement but he could be back in the future but that does not mean this is some kind of ploy(unless he ends up fighting Oscar in like Decemeber or some ****, then it is a ploy).

If you take into consideration how much floyd loves money it would not make ANY sense (or cents) to retire BEFORE the oscar rematch which made me think of why floyd would pull from the fight (whether he's really "retiring" or just avoiding this fight at this time).

What i think could be true is that MAYBE floyd believes if he pulls from the fight oscar will most likely fight the winner of cotto v. margarito...the cotto/margarito fight will now determine the new true champion at 147.

Floyd may believe oscar can beat EITHER cotto OR margarito...

so floyd sits it out; oscar fights the winner and floyd hopes oscar wins (to become the champ at 147)...

then floyd "comes out of retirement" to fight oscar for that crown of best at 147...

I think floyd may believe a fight with oscar is EASIER for him than a fight with a younger cotto or margarito...

it could be an easy way to raise the payday and a easy way to keep his champ of 147 status.

possibility? or do i have too much time on my hands?
I think Floyd believes that Cotto will beat Margarito and Oscar and Floyd will fight Cotto once the dust settles

everything u say is probably true except when you say a dlh fight is easier than a fight with cotto or margarito.

dlh and cotto are probably at the same level of difficulty right now. margarito is far behind and is the easiest fight among these 3.

Floyd isn't hoping anyone wins or loses. He only cares about who can make the biggest fight, and the most money with.

Why don't you go wait outside while we discuss his theory to street punk. This is a forum to discuss this matter. As a matter of fact, take your punk arse outside and wait until we finish! lol

Or Floyd could be waiting for Oscar to fight the winner and then fight the winner of Oscar vs Cotto/Margarito.

                Who knows.

Nope, if Oscar loses he just lost out on a 30million dollar payday.

i was thinking along the same lines...
I was thinking its possible that Floyd is sick of people saying "your ducking cotto" so he is letting the winner of the marg-cotto match go onto fight oscar and after one of them beats oscar he fights them because after beating oscar cotto will have a much bigger fan base...Just a thought
