    Golden Boy behind Floyd's 'retirement'

GBP wanted to tell Hatton to forget Floyd.Instead they want him to face Pacquio and then Diaz maybe Floyd later on.

Floyd-Oscar was not going to sell that much because people want Cotto not Oscar.Floyd-Cotto wouldnt break the bank that much either,no one knows who Cotto is (only boxing fans do,Cotto hasnt crossed over).Cotto-Oscar makes money because of Oscar.SO why not get Floyd out of the equation,Floyd 'retires',Ricky can now concentrate on other fights.Oscar beats Cotto, calls out Floyd for one fight, the fight goes on.Meanwhile Hatton is fighting smaller guys,if he wins then calls Floyd out and these guys make money.

If Cotto wins against Oscar then he's a mega star. You know how GBP has these clauses about promoting your next fight so Cotto-Floyd can now happen and break the bank.

No one wanted Hatton_Floyd 2,no one wanted Oscar -Floyd 2 but this way Golden Boy makes more money.

    Any more thoughts.

    strike one!

Floyd-Cotto wouldnt break the bank that much either,no one knows who Cotto is (only boxing fans do,Cotto hasnt crossed over).

    strike two!

Oscar beats Cotto, calls out Floyd for one fight, the fight goes on.Meanwhile Hatton is fighting smaller guys,if he wins then calls Floyd out and these guys make money.

    strike three! your outta here!

the only thing that even comes close to making sense in this thread is that cotto WILL become a megastar when he BEATS DLH. just like floyd. nice try though.

No disrespect to Cotto,at the moment he's not a household name.Floyd is looking at big PPV at the moment not the 400k mark.

These guys have evaluated many factors and are looking at what GBP will make all in all, looking at Hatton,Floyd and Oscar

i just messing with you but in all honesty cotto isnt a household name(but is not unknown either). i just disagree that golden boy would be behind floyds retirement when it seemed that oscar wanted the rematch more than floyd.

If Mayweather does retire it's because he ran scared.. nothing else to it!

Good points, I wouldn't doubt DLH and Floyd have discussed some of this. Floyd just retiring and somewhat backing out of an easy big money making rematch with DLH, doesn't make sense at all. Somethings going on behind the scenes.
