Why are most top boxers weird/creepy/scary/funny looking?

I mean you get the scary, creepy and weird looking a lot in boxing but you also sometimes get funny looking guys like paulie malignaggi. Why is it that their is very rarely a normal looking boxer like Kelly Pavlik, Joe Calzaghe, Kessler and De la hoya that wins a world title?.
