Cotto must have learned about squatting on things from that tramp-ass ***** that you call mom.

    Punk-ass dwarf.
Being the best means fighting the best.

I bet your mama didn't tell you that.

All your excuses needs to bow down to that standard.

That quote proves what? No one is saying Floyd can't box or has no skills at all. We're saying he's a ***** in general. The whole fighting "better quality opponents than Jones" means he is at the time and had he continued to fight tough fights that would've been so. It didn't say fought, that article isn't looking back on anything. It was saying at that point in time - continuing in the same vein - don't overanalyze **** and hope to bend words for them to mean what you want.
      You're missing the obvious point.

Leading into the Hatton fight, the same writer that just attempted to rip apart Floyd's entire career, was singing a completely different tune. And at the end of the article, actually picks Hatton to win, possibly by TKO.

Also read this, from his pre-Hatton article:

This match up has the potential to be a fight of the year candidate. Maybe a fight of an age candidate. We'll all
soon find out how this fight will stack up against some of the all time greats bouts of days gone by. I can tell that the HBO promotion of this fight has raised an interest in boxing I haven't seen since Mike Tyson burst onto the scene in the mid 1980s. Actually, there was a pretty big buzz leading up to Mayweather's last fight, against Oscar De La Hoya, which turned out to be a stinker. Let's hope this fight is more fulfilling. The buzz is in the air big time for this one.

Consider that both are unbeaten, have been Champions for a long time and have both been involved in unforgettable fights, like Hatton's destruction of Kostya Tszyu in 2005 or back in 2001, when Floyd Mayweather Jr. demolished an "in his prime" Diego Corrales (One of the most exciting fighters in the sport, recently killed in a motorcycle accident, may he rest in peace).
Then read how his story changes now:

For his last fight, Ricky Hatton (43-0) Floyd was too fast and technically skillful for Hatton, who got knocked out by a check hook and ****** his head into the ring post before going down and being TKO’d in the tenth round. In his comeback fight against Juan Lazcano, Hatton took a good walloping and was saved from being KO’d when after landing a pair of big rights cleanly to the face and Hatton was wobbly, the ref gave Lazcano a warning and gave Hatton an extra 30 seconds recovery time, while his corner tied his shoelaces, which were suddenly in need of tying while Ricky’s legs were good and rubbery.

Those are the last ten opponents of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Not a very impressive resume for a man touted as the best fighter in boxing. There’s not one guy on that list that was in his prime when Floyd fought them.
So, it's not impressive that Floyd beat the undefeated jr. welter champion who this very writer picked to TKO Floyd only a few months ago.

And Ricky Hatton wasn't in his prime?

Frankie Gonzalez is a total hater and a hypocrite. End of story.
