I have give credit to Puas for this because he made a thread the day before about Mora fighting DLH and I pretty much laughed it off, but he was right. Now it's a fight that makes sense. Both are from East LA, Mora is pretty known because he won the contender, it would actually be for a belt, and it would be a winnable fight for Oscar. The numbers are usually always big when DLH fights and then with a guy like Mora who I would guess is somewhat known to the casual fan, the numbers would be big. Because really all Oscar fights now are for the show.
Now that Mayweather has retired, De La Hoya needs a new opponent.
Who would you like to see him fight, and why?
The winner of Margarito v. Cotto.
it is by far the most logical choice...especially since oscar wants to retire on top...fighting and possibly getting a win against the top welterweight in the world would definately help him with that.
However i think of oscar beats the top welter in the world he wont really retire.
As much as guys always talk about wanting to retire on top majority of them dont...
anyway i think the winning of cotto v. margarito is the best fight he can make.
For a third fight im not sure yet...matters on if he wins against margarito or cotto...
I think he should fight Paul Williams in September, and then the winner of Margarito vs. Cotto in December.
Nah. Williams isn't a name. And it's high risk low reward. Cotto and Marg will draw way more because of their strong fan base. Because in my opinion it is not a given he can beat Williams.
