It's because this dude is now more than ever the REAL DEAL. His demolition of Lockett proves he is not some pretender. Not cuz Lockett is great, but because he's not terrible, but Kelly made him look absolutely AWFUL, proving Kelly is in that truly elite class of champions today. He is finally gettin attention, from both fans like me and from the haters like Ultimateboxa and his lackies who don't recognize a legitmate entertainer when he's punching their favorite fighter right in the face. All the hate proves is that Pavlik matters, for better or worse(obviously I believe it to be for the better) Bad publicity is better than no publicity, so thank you Ultimateboxa for doing as much as anyone to get Kelly's name out there for discussion. You're more of a blessing than I realized.
I just realized why all the Pavlik haters are coming out...

Ain't no reason to hate on Pavlik. He's a real champ who's fun to watch. He's biding his time tryin to get a big fight so he punked some unknown guy in the interim. No big deal as long as he don't start makin a habit outta of it. -

Kelly was the real deal befor the Lockett fight. But the fight ment nothing, Lockett looked like a welterwieght in there and Kelly a light heavyweight. The fight was mismatch but then again I surpose Kelly deserves a easy fight and to keep active.Comment

That's a bit extreme dude he ended it in less than five. Cotto/Gomez should've went one also but that's the whole taking someone out to deep waters and drowning them thing. Even if I was 100% confident that I was twice as skilled as the guy they just put me in the ring with I would land some hard shots and tire him out over the course of a few rounds and then put him away. Pavlik did the right thing.Comment

I don't think the fight didn't mean anything. Like I said, Pavlik was fighting a nobody, but Lockett still managed to beat all 30 of the guys he'd ever faced(Avenged his only loss in a rematch KO) So whether all 30 were nobodies or not, that's somewhat impressive. And the fact that Kelly made this guy look like a such a relative amateur is why I think it proves Kelly is no fluke, that he definitely has the goods, on top of his Taylor and Miranda winsComment

What I loved about the Lockett fight is how Pavlik looked like THE MAN while he demolished him. It reminded me of Kostya Tszyu back in his prime powerhouse days. The way he could take apart anyone and not go down to their level. Pavlik just stood there bombing away to head and body and broke Lockett down. He never got too anxious or out of his gameplan. Pavlik is the real deal and should be for years to come.Comment
