Peter has to get past Vitaly first if they're still scheduled to fight. Vitaly might be rusty but if he's healthy he will punish the Nigerian.
Wlad Klitschko vs Sam Peter II... What are the thoughts?

Wlad by KO, he's also improved, is more confident, and most certainly will be 2nd time around with Peter, knowing what to expect more.

Wlad is packed though, he has to beat Thompson, which is in no way an easy fight for Wladimir and then, if he does beat him, he has to face Povetkin.
Then a possible unification with Peter or Haye fight in England.
I am keeping my fingers crossed.Comment

You know, I'm a Klitchko fan too, have been since I first saw him fight, but I gotta say, pal, you're as rabid and vehement as any "fan" I've ever seen post. What I'm trying to say is that firing back at someone like that doesn't help, it just gives them ammo to burn when they start on the nuthugger accusations. Try using fact and reason, it works wonders, buddy.Comment

AND a great point being made by those picking Klitschko is that Peter is not the iron-chinned son of a ***** we all thought he was going into the first fight. Peter's chin isn't great by any means. He could totally be knocked out, but I don't think Wlad will try because, well, he's become a huge *****. If you won't try to knock out harmless little Ibragimov, who the **** will you try to KO?
Harmless little Ibragimov? C'mon, buddy.Comment

Sorry but Ibragimov is as harmless as it gets. The guy flat out sucks and doesn't have any real pop. If he does, how come he has yet to do anything to a credible opponent?Comment

I wouldnt be 100% sure but i'd be leaning towards wlad.I think every sensible person on here can definitely see that Peter has significantly improved his shape and boxing ability since they first met, especially after James Toney.. Sam obviously had the power to put Klit down but not the boxing ability to follow up with it, back then. What happens now? I still say Klitschko is the obvious superior boxer, but with this improvement in Peters ability, can he follow up now?
I would most likely still favor Klitschko in this fight... but I wouldn't feel very safe betting on it.. I think Sam Peters power is the most powerful in the division... more raw power though.. as I think wlad has a better form and tecnique to his punches.. People complain about sams rabbit punches but a lot of it is blown out of proportions... he does throw over right hands instead of straight right hands.. more of a chopping punch, but a lot of his opponents bend forward or to the side and cause the rabbit punching themselves... imo anyways.. The thing that I like about this fight is, I think Sams ability to take a punch, aside from Jameel mcclline (whatever happened there?) or rather, his ability to take Klitschkos punches at least... and the lack of chin Wlad has shown against Sams punches... That makes this fight pretty intriguing to me..
like you; i wouldnt bet on it...it would be a much closer fight this time around.
I for one, was impressed with peter's improvement in his last fight...i didnt expect him to look half as good as he did...
I think what you said about peter's power and ability to take a punch versus wlad's inability to take a hard punch all make for an interesting fight.
I think right now its the best fight that wlad or peter can make at heavyweight...
And to everyone reading i dont want to hear one word about haye...let him win some fights before you put his name against wlad or peter...let him comfortably grow into a heavyweight frame and test the waters against some of the other's in the division.
I think it would be an exciting fight and beyond what im sure is popular vote i think it goes the distance or at least 10 rounds...Comment

For his size, he he has loads of pop. He's not the puncher Klitchko is, but he has more than enough **** to KO any heavy out there. He's also very slick defensively yet doesn't mind taking shots to get off his own, and sees everything. If he were bigger, he'd be one dangerous muther****er. Even as he is, he's nobody to take lightly. Klitchko was smart to fight him like he did, but I still didn't care much for the boxing exibition, personally.Comment

No his improvements came during and after the Toney fights...Most of Peter's improvements in skill were prior to the Klitchko bout, not after. He was also in the best shape I've ever seen him in for that fight.
Honestly, I don't think Peter will last past 6 or 8 in a rematch, if Klitchko even gives him one. The reality is that Peter doesn't really deserve one. His claims to fame in that fight were; a single actual knockdown, repeated blows to the back of the head, having two pushes/fouls ruled as KD's in his favor, and being lucky enough to not get KO'd when he was ready to go late. And still, even with all this help, he lost by a far wider margin than I'd ever think was deserving of a rematch.
Anyway, my opinion, he doesn't deserve a rematch, but if he's lucky enough to get one, he gets KO'd before the opening bell of 10.
Incidentally, I don't care how old Vitali is...if he takes a match with Peter, that big Nigerian won't last 4 rounds. Vitali is a predator of the highest order. I don't give a **** if he's so old he has to park his walker outside the ring, he'd still be eating Peter's raw liver and drinking his blood by the end of 3. Peter is a big guy, ****s with the best of 'em and has genuinely improved since his early days, but he's too hittable and too slow to deal with Vitali. The guy is just plain scary.
I think Peter will come into his own within the next few years, but he can't handle either Klitchko right now.Comment
