Carlos Quintana Wants Paul Williams Trilogy, Vows To Return

Quintana deserves a rematch, just like Williams did. I don't think one punch KOs necessarily prove that one fighter is better than the other. A third fight would prove beyond all doubt who the better fighter is, plus Quintana gave Williams a chance to win the belt back so Williams should extend the same courtesy to Quintana.Comment

It wasn't just Quintana getting caught if you watched closely. Quintana did nothing he didn't do in the first fight. He was aggressively boxing, even landed a good left, but Williams caught him with a counter uppercut/right hook - something he didn't do AT ALL in the first fight. That uppercut knocked Quintana's head up and made him realize it wasn't going to be the same night. Then the left Williams landed that started the onslaught came after a JAB so Williams didn't just "catch" anybody. It was a well placed punch and it scored big. There was nothing weird about it. February was clearly a fluke. Williams didn't say it, but everybody close says he didn't train hard and he expected to win easy...kinda like he did in the rematch.Comment

I agree on both points. He does deserve a rematch, but it's a hard sell and I would understand if Williams didn't give it to him.Comment

Reading through these post, I've come to realize that many people haven't 'wrapped their head' around the fact that Paul William is the #2 welterweight in the world. I'll say it again, Paul Williams is the #2 welterweight in the world. He is in the running for the dela hoya sweepstakes and if Margarito beats cotto, Paul is the topdog. Paul has just as much right to create a legacy as Cotto or Margarito. Why is he the one that'll should fight the same fighter for a year and a half straight while others get a shot at big fights and great paydays? Margarito fighting Cintron was the biggest copped out I've ever seen and now he gets to fight dela hoya if he defeats Cotto. Tha ****! In the current climate of the Welterweight division, Paul is an A level champion, hell he beat champion to gain and regain his title. Something Cotto can't say, being that is title was vacant when he got it and I don't even have to speak on Tony. Paul owns Tonys title until he can prove different.Comment
