CLEAR UP THE CONFUSION.
Same thing happened with Paul.
Nobody wanted a montell rematch, and we dont need a Quintana rematch.Comment

That's exactly what I was going to say. Bring on a big name pay day. And yo my man, RJJ better whoop Calzaghe.Comment

So I guess it's fair to say that Paul Williams can have an off match, but Quintana cannot?
Just remember in boxing that all it takes is one punch to completely turn the tide of a match.
As for the arguing of whether a knock out or a UD is better? A knock out is just more pleasing to the fans and seems more decisive -- but a clear UD victory means the same thing. It's still one fighter outclassing another.
That said, it's unfair to say that Quintana doesn't deserve a rubber match based on these reasons.Comment

I wrote Williams off until I read he didn't even train properly for the first fight. He was so looking past Quintana that he didn't spar with any lefties or do his homework really. Considering the result of the 2nd bout and the aforementioned overlooking, it's a pretty safe call to make that the first match was a fluke.Comment

in the first fight, williams clearly wasn't in shape and that is probably due to him being like 12 pounds over the weight limit a week before the fight. It clearly showed as he looked sluggish as hell. for the second fight, he made sure to stay in shape and we can see the result of that. just cuz they are 1-1 against each other doesn't mean there has to be a rubber match cuz williams clearly is the better fighter and he will clearly win the next fight as well. its kinda like a lewis-rahman deal, they are 1-1 against each other but everyone knows who the better fighter is and who will win so why waste time.
Williams has better fish to frie like the winner of marg-cotto. Quintana-Williams trilogy is redundant.Comment

There's nothing redundant about it -- it seems more like people that like Paul Williams just don't want to see the chance of him losing to Quintana again.
Paul Williams can come in undertrained and have an off night but Quintana can't? Lucky punches never happen?
Get real.Comment
