    Reflections on 6/7

    1. Juan Manuel Lopez really might be the next name to break the P4P list who wasn't recently in the discussion. That was ****ing incredible tonight. That right hook was like nothing I've seen before.

    2. Kelly Pavlik looked a lot less like a one-dimensional fighter tonight. He showed more than the straight 1-2. Even if it was against Lockett, I think his punch technique of hooks and uppercuts showed a lot of improvement.

    3. Whoever said Quintana-Williams I was an off night was clearly correct. And special shoutout to Burner for insisting that Williams had good power, because he blasted Quintana with lefts and right hooks tonight. Incredible. I even thought it was going to be a repeat when Quintana caught him with a great counter off the bat, but Williams was having none of it. Showtime needs a new picture of Williams... He looked like a crackhead in their picture of him.

    4. Vernon Forrest needs to retire. He looked terrible tonight, even considering he always looked pretty bad against pressure fighters. Special shoutout to Scott saying that Vernon has only looked that good lately because of the washed up opponents he has been fighting. Forrest looked like an old man tonight. Mora is going to get his ass kicked if he tries to unify though. He doesn't look like an elite fighter, or even close to it.

I ****ing suck at betting. Down 10K because of Quintana, and down 100K because of Forrest.

juanma is not gonna make the p4p list
the only way vazquez got in there was because he had this very entertaining fights against marquez
lower weight fighters have it rough when it comes to the ring mag recognition
if he wants to make the list he is gonna have to unify and defeat another big name

Lopez could very well be a pound for pound entrant in the next couple of years, he has a lot of talent and power.

I've always said Pavlik isn't as 1 dimensional as some people have said he is and it showed against Lockett.

Quintana got caught cold, I still can't believe that happened.

Forrest looked like an old fighter.

I didn't mean right now. I meant that he has the talent to beat someone like a Vazquez or a Marquez... maybe.

He just looked damn good tonight, that's all I'm saying.

You and I argued about Pavlik before on this. I told you he wasn't one dimensional. He just does what he needs to do to exploit the other guys weaknesses. Glad you've seen more of what he offers now.

He didn't show the willingness to throw hooks and uppercuts that frequently in previous fights...

The only time he unleashed them was when his opponent was hurt, and not throwing back.

Maybe he didn't feel like Lockett could counter or something, or maybe he has gotten the confidence in those punches. I don't know!

Blah... it wasn't that great of a night of for me.

I lost both my bets, and my view of where everyone stood in boxing was ****ed up tonight.

I think a lot more of Pavlik after tonight.

The guy who I thought was best at 154 should actually be retiring.

I wrote Williams off at 147 as someone who would lose every time he fought a counterpuncher, and now he is up there as the guy who should the winner of Cotto/Margarito.

And I don't even know what to do with Juan Manuel Lopez! Can he beat Marquez and Vazquez? It's hard to say after only seeing him for one round against a slugger with not a lot of skill.

I think Lopez could take out either one of them. The guy has serious power and Vasquez/Marquez has a lot of wear and tare from each other. They also don't have the best chins.

Williams though, obviously impressive. He went out there and got him out quick. I still don't think the first match was a fluke. Quintana didn't have the time to start moving and ****. Williams jumped on him. I don't think Williams could beat Mayweather. I don't think he could beat Cotto either because Margarito was giving some serious problems to him at the end.

However, Williams wins even more convincingly in the rematch to the Margarito fight.
