    Pavlik has plenty of footwork.

He is slow and plodding. But he manages to back out of danger whenever it presents itself, and he can move forward very forcefully without taking a step back

Cal's handspeed is much better then Pavliks, but Taylors handspeed is on par with Cal's, and Taylor hits a lot harder then Cal does. And Pavlik handled it very well.

Pavlik is by far the best fighter Calzaghe will have faced. And considering Cal is 44-0 or something, and is nearly 40, his chances are bleak at best

I was actually surprised by Pavlik's handspeed today, it was a lot better than I thought but I do think his footwork will let him down in a possible fight with Calz..

I don't get the impression that Pavlik is better than Kessler and they only fought last year, if Calz gets old over night then sure, Pavlik can win but I don't see him beating the Joe who beat Kessler.

Pavliks shots are decieving but strong.. he has the power to knock Joe out and really stun him.

I know Joe has a good record but what surprises me is how his face looks compared to other boxers. his nose isnt broken and twisted he has no real scar tissue.. he hasnt fought heavy persistant hitters like Pavlik. Some may say Kessler but I feel Pavlik would knock Kessler out.

And Taylor has just as high of work rate as Calzaghe so there shouldnt be too much of an adjustment.

As far as power, After fighting Hopkins I saw more bumps and bruises on Calzaghes face than bernard. Calzaghe gave a boxing lesson to Lacy but couldnt knock him out. Same with Kessler.
If im not mistaken the FIGHT IS SIGNED FOR OCTOBER 10th!!!

Nothing exceptional about Joe's footwork at all. His footwork was actually VERY poor in the Bhop fight. He should've never allowed Bernard to get so close all fight long but dumbass Joe didn't know how to create space and that's because he isn't very good or smart in the ring. Sorry, it's true.

It's true. If he was so smart, he would've been able to create some space between himself and Bernard and he would've been able to land some combos. The fact of the matter is, he barely scrapped it out against a 43-year-old fighter. Pavlik is better than Kessler. He's more aggressive, poised, and is hungry.

Pavlik had a great arsenal of punches, but Kessler has better movement, defense and dynamic (in that he can box and fight).

Although Pavlik has more consistant power, I believe Kessler has the better one punch power (perhaps because of timing, accuracy).

I think the Calzaghe fight wasn't a good fight to judge Kessler. Every other opponent he has been in with, he has completey contolled the action and dominated. Calzaghes odd style, speed and movement didn't allow him to get command, but against a more one dimensional guy like Pavlik I think he would formulate a good plan. And for the same reason I believe Calzaghe would beat Pavlik. Provided he is still hungry and in good form.

If he learnt anything from the Calzaghe fight, he will beat Pavlik
