Nah, I wold favor Hearns, Hagler, and MCcellann over Jones. Jones beats Pavlik by unanimous decision though. Too fast, too powerful and too much technical ability. He would make it look easy if he was on his A game but if he let up, then he could be caught with something big.

You don't think RJJ could KO Pavlik? IMO a prime RJJ will land his quick straight rights all night leading to a corner stoppage in the mid to late rounds.

I think that Jones would give Pavlik a Clinton Woods like beating and he could very well get a corner stoppage, but its hard to see Pavlik staying down for the 10 count. He is a very tough fighter and it would take Jack Loew to throw in the towel.

I think that MCclellann wold have had Jones number. He beat him in the amatures becuase he was able to bring pressure and take advantage of Jones being on the ropes to conserve energy. I rank MCclellann as the biggest puncher at middleweight so his body work and pressure would have had a lot of effect. I haven't see anyone consistantly pressure Roy when he was in his prime and when Hopkins some what did it, Jones was being caught with right hand counters late in the fight. Would have been a disatser is Jones was facing a bigger puncher like MCclellann. If Roy could keep out of the way for 12 rounds, then he definitely had the handspeed and foot work to get it done by decision. He would have to be on his best game.

Hearns had better technique than Jones and was the more accurate puncher. I think of Forest against Mosley when the fight is mentioned.

                    Why another thread about Pavlik?

And asking such an obvious question is just ridiculous.
