If Mayweather isn't afraid of him.. why did he catch ghost so close to the Margarito v Cotto fight?

He even turned down the DLH rematch and ran.. It was bound to happen though, A REAL champion was bound to run him out of town.

What did he think he could rematch DLH and Hatton for the rest of his career and not have to face Cotto?

Cotto only danced after Shane hurt him late in the fight. Before that I thought Cotto was controlling the early rounds but Shane being the true pro came back on him and stunned him good. To Cotto's credit he threw shots even when pretty dazed.

If Margarito hurts him like that early he's in trouble. But if Cotto can box and keep flicking the jab to discourage Margarito, he can win the decision.

But I think Margs has learned from his Williams mistake and is bringing it early and heavy.
I have seen Cotto hurt, I haven't seen Margs hurt, so I think in the battle of the wills Margs takes it.
I admire both warriors for taking this fight.

Fights aren't easy. Cotto has never been in the ring with a man with a gorilla suit on. He has been the gorilla. Floyd has been in with guys people picked to beat him. When you see floyd, you automatically think he can beat anyone because he is the best. Cotto has never been tested. Never. He will be now lol..

Mosley has stayed active, stayed fit and has stayed fighting..
DLH has been in more wars, is fat, hasn't stayed active and fights every one or two years..

If you think Cotto has been fighting bums, then you just dont know boxing.

His competition in the recent past is more solid than Mayweather's.

It is an unfortunate fact that Mayweather has retired without beating a legit WW. That is something that his fans will have to deal with. Margarito and Cotto both deserve credit becasue they have chosen to fight the other best fighter in the division.
