For boxing fans, it sucks. We want to see him fight and add to his legacy. But lets all be honest, health wise this is the best thing for him. Plus, he won't have to be pounded on when hes past his prime like other greats who hang around too long. Hes getting out on top, its actuallly really smart. But for the fans, its you pussied out man!!! you should fight Cotto!!!But the thing about boxing is, if he fights Cotto, then he'll have to fight______. Then when he fights him, people will say fight__________. Pretty soon hes 35 and still fighting, thats not always a good thing. Roy should have retire after the first Tarver fight.
Heres My Take On The Floyd Retirement...

As much as I would like to see him retire for good along with Oscar, its not gonna happen. He's just playing around to get paid more money on his upcoming fights. As far as not loving boxing anymore and retiring, he doesn't fight for the love of the sport anymore, he lost the love when he started facing lesser opposition which would earn him more money, he could've retired then. Its clear all he cares about is getting paid. If he DOES retire and never comes back, I respect that, hold him as one of the very best of our era and not a rich coward.Comment
