  • Floyd will be back... reasons why... We've been fooled

The thread title says it all. I cant believe how many people bought ino this stunt by Floyd .

    We've been

    Firstly :

    * Seeing as Roger doesnt train much other 'superstars' he'd be out of a job for the bigtime... so he wouldnt let Floyd retire completely at the moment when he knows what Floyd is caapble of. Dont y'all rmmeber when he said 'Floyd will fight Cotto... down the line'

Key word : Down the line. Not now, but later. Hence the 'layoff' till Cotto makes himself a superstar and possibly grabs P4P.

    * Floyd Jr and Floyd Sr had an argument over boxing related issues , seeing as Floyd is 'retired' dont you think he would patch it up with his dad ? If it dont happen in the next month, he aint retired.

    Key fight : Hatton

    * Floyd said after Hatton that he would take a 2 year lay off , what better a stunt than pretend he is retired when he was going to take a layoff anyway ?!

    Key opponent : Cotto

Floyd knows it , Ellerbe knows it, and even Roger knows it.

Pretending a 'retirement' when he was going to take a layoff ANYWAY is the perfect plan for Cotto to become a superstar, Floyd makes a big comeback and takes it bag in Leonard/Hagler fashion.

Come on.... theres even more to it.

    Key company : Mayweather promotions

Mayweather promotions will probably end up making a name for itself in the next couple of years (when Floyd will come out of retirement) and Floyd could stage his first superfight : Cotto/Mayweather.

    Key point : Training

Your body cannot wear down, nor your mentality when it comes to training, the sooner Floyd realises that he is in fighting shape he will make a comeback.

    Key video : Hatton/Mayweather 24/7

Floyd said his body was ''wearing down''.....

what better way than to take a rest... for two years.

    So Floyd.....

    See you in 2 !

I think floyd is done for reals this time. why would he pass up on a rematch with dlh??? I doubt cotto/floyd would generate as much money as dlh/floyd II or even hatton/floyd II.

I think floyd wants to be like lennox lewis where everyone is begging lennox to come back.

Well if you look at it that way you have a point. What's the last memory people have of Lennox? A positive one, people remember him as the last true great heavyweight. He retired with dignity (and a bit of luck) and right on time. Floyd also wants to be a positive example for young kids who look up to him, not these hater mother****ers posting here, the young kids who really like boxing and the respect of the main******. I think he got that. He will probably never be with SRR up in the top because of his short career but he is certainly comparable in skills. He would probably still have some fights in him but have no doubt those would be painful fights at ww. He has not the frame to move up anymore and he's slower than most WW now. People bashed him for his career at the ww division but forget to compare him with others and secondly forget he is a natural lightweight who happened to be so good he was allowed 5 weight categories. That's an hell of a career huh? Specially if you compare him with other fighters, only Oscar had a similar one.

Floyd is clearly ducking Cotto, not waiting for him to become a superstar and then fight him! Why would he want to give some one the lime light? I understand your theory but I don't believe some one which is motivated by money is turning down a rematch with De La Hoya to fight Cotto in the future, it doesn't make sense.

Floyd Mayweather doesnt make sense. How really can understand him ?

Watch... in the near fututre people will beg Floyd to come back. He will come back to KO Cotto and be rated one of the best ever.

Seeing as when Floyd goes, Mosley may lose, Margarito will lose, Williams will lose, Cintron will lose, and Hatton will lose.

Leaving Cotto. Whom he will KO.

Mayweather understand that the DLH fight makes sense money wise but not motivational wise.

What a better fight than Cotto to motivate him ?

He wont be motivated against Hatton or Oscar.

            Mayweatehr is waiting on Cotto.

your warped dude, leave it be hes done.

You think he can come back after not being in the ring for years and just pick up where he left off? Training or not It takes dedication to stay fighting every 3-4 months to become better. he will lose a step and as far as knocking Cotto out, it cant be done your a whack job to think so. If he couldnt knock out Zab he cant for **** knock out Cotto

                  Yes he will.

You really think Cotto will be able to stand up to ACCURATE shots over 36 minutes ? I beg to differ.

I think a Cotto fight may be what's happening. Perhaps he's realized the rematch with DLH is not getting the public's attention and the poor performance against Forbes didn't help. Maybe they started negotiations for the rematch and things just didn't look good, at least in Mayweather's eyes. Therefore DLH is already looking for another opponent and Mayweather has retired until he sees what happens in the Cotto-Margarito fight. If Cotto wins his stock will rise even more and there will be even more pressure for a Mayweather fight. Mayweather proabably wants to this to happen and demand will reach an all time high at which point he'll come out of retirement to "prove his critics wrong".

That's what I'm hoping at least.
